Taryn is an Accredited Practising Dietitian & Advanced Sports Dietitian. She has a wide range of experience working over the past 10 years in the clinical, community & private practice settings consulting to a wide range of clients to help them achieve their health goals.

Sports nutrition is her passion & she founded Dietitian Approved to help people eat for both Health and Performance in sport and in life. She has worked with numerous athletes & sports including triathlon, ironman, swimming, cycling, running, jockey’s, polocrosse, crossfitters & the everyday athlete wanting to be fit and healthy.

She also consults to Triathlon Australia, looking after our Australian Triathlon and Para-Triathlon team. The mix of private practice and elite sport is her absolute dream job! It also means elite level, best-practice and evidence-based nutrition is passed on to the everyday “athlete” so you can be assured you’re getting the best nutrition information there is.

Taryn is also a trained  Anthropometrist, which means she is qualified to assess body composition with skin folds to the international standard.

As an “athlete” herself, Taryn knows first-hand the demands training has on your lifestyle. Growing up she balanced swimming with netball & she now competes in sprint & olympic distance triathlons while dabbling in a bit of CrossFit/Weight training.

Our Team

Libby Osmond

Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD)
Bachelor of Nutrition & Dietetics
ISAK Level 1 Anthropometrist
Certificate III and IV Fitness

Libby is a passionate and enthusiastic dietitian with a strong background in the health and fitness industry as a personal and group trainer. This experience helped Libby find her passion for sports nutrition and helping the everyday ‘athlete’ reach their health and performance goals. She also works as a clinical dietitian, providing her with a wide range of experience helping a variety of clients across all areas of life.

Libby is our resident gym junkie who loves anything and everything movement. Strength training, functional training and long-distance running, in particular, set her soul on fire. She competes in half and full distance marathons and can often be found squeezing in a sneaky gym session between clients.

She has weight trained for over eight year and loves the challenge it provides. She is passionate about clearing up misinformation and guiding gym goers to use nutrition to their advantage to train smarter, harder and reach their goals faster.

Leslie Benjamin

Administration / Wing woman
Bachelor of Business Administration (Management Accounting) – in progress

Leslie is our behind the scenes wing woman who you’ll have the pleasure of speaking with and emailing when you book an appointment. She keeps us under control so we can focus on doing what we do best – being Sports Dietitian’s.

Leslie is addicted to boxing and lifting weights and when she’s not responding to emails, you can find her in the gym beating up the boys. Her favourite food is a popular Filipino soup dish – Sinigang na Baboy (Pork in Sour Broth). Although we’re always trying to get her to eat more vegetables 🙂

Want to get the most out of your health and performance?

Our Philosophy

We don’t follow diets or food trends. We believe in a well balanced approach using whole foods as the basis for a healthy lifestyle. Healthy eating doesn’t need to be hard or boring! We love to cook simple food that is full of flavour and nutritious.

“You can’t out train a bad diet”

We believe an individualised nutrition plan is key to optimal sports performance. You spend hours & hours training, but if you haven’t got your nutrition sorted it can be harder to reach your goals.  Spend a little time on your nutrition to improve your health, maintain your desired body composition & enhance performance in your sport. It’s cheaper than buying a new bike!
